Apartments in the Canary Islands
A magnificent choice of apartments is available to rent at the many coastal resorts in the Canary Islands. There is a standard pattern to holiday apartments, spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen that leads onto a balcony with sun beds and garden furniture. There is a number of bedrooms, many en-suite.
More often than not, the apartments are arranged in tiers overlooking a swimming pool or there is a swimming pool and leisure suite nearby. Lifts and stairs provide access to higher floors.
Parking should be enquired about before booking. Some of the more recent apartment blocks have underground parking built in. You may have difficulties if there is only street parking, especially during school holidays when demand reaches its peak.
Apartments in the Canary islands for self catering holidays -
Not all apartments in the Canary Islands will have air conditioning. This is not as important as in other parts of Spain because temperatures stay below 30 degrees, even in July and August.
There is some variation in climate between the various Canary Islands. Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria tend to be warmer on average than La Palma and Hierro which are further west. Tenerife and La Gomera are in between. There is also variation on each island. Northern Tenerife is wetter and greener than the windy south. El Teide volcano in the centre of the island often display a snowy cap because of its height.
